Locating your MAC ID
To create a node-locked license, IRIDAS needs the MAC ID of your computer. Follow the instructions below to find the MAC ID (also called "Hardware Address" or "MAC Address") of your computer. If your computer uses more than one Ethernet card it will present you with more than one MAC ID. You'll only need to register one of them.
Windows:
- Click Start>Run.
- Type 'cmd' in the dialog to bring up a terminal window.
- Type 'ipconfig /all' in the terminal.
- Locate the number that appears next to 'Physical Address.' That is your MAC ID.
Linux:
- Bring up a terminal window.
- Type '/sbin/ifconfig' in the terminal.
- The number that appears next to 'HWaddr' is the MAC ID of your machine.
Mac:
- Click Apple Menu>System Preferences.
- Click the Network tab.
- Select 'Built-in Ethernet' from the 'Show' dropdown.
- Click the Ethernet button.
- The number listed as 'Ethernet ID' is the MAC ID of your machine.
