Overview: IRIDAS applications are GPU accelerated

IRIDAS applications rely extensively on the OpenGL and shader technologies of modern nVidia graphics cards.

Some applications are more demanding on the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) than others. SpeedGrade OnSet and MetaRender in regular mode (CPU mode) do not require shader technologies to be present in the graphics card.

The cards listed here are certified for use with IRIDAS 2010 applications. For a list with certified drivers for 2009 applications, please check the 2009 graphics card compatibility list

SpeedGrade DI and SpeedGrade XR 2010

NVIDIA QuadroFX 5800 with SDI Daughterboard, NVIDIA QuadroFX 4800 with SDI Daughterboard

  • ForceWare Driver 197.90 for XP32, XP64, Windows 7, Windows 7 x64

NVIDIA QuadroFX 5800, NVIDIA QuadroFX 4800 with dual DVI

  • ForceWare Driver 197.90 for XP32, XP64, Windows 7, Windows 7 x64

OS X 10.5 and 10.6: QuadroFX 4800 for Mac, no additional driver required

The SDI daughterboard is supported on Windows and LINUX. Apple does not supply a driver for the SDI functionality as of Q3 2010, so on the Mac platform there is no direct SDI support.

FrameCycler DI

NVIDIA QuadroFX 5800, NVIDIAQuadroFX 4800, NVIDIA QuadroFX 3800

  • ForceWare Driver 197.90 for XP32, XP64, Windows 7, Windows 7 x64

OS X 10.5 and 10.6: QuadroFX 4800 for Mac, no additional driver required

MetaRender

MetaRender by default uses the CPU for rendering and is not dependent on the graphics card. If you enable GPU rendering in MetaRender, the GPU requirements will be identical to those of FrameCycler DDS.

SpeedGrade OnSet

SpeedGrade OnSet uses no GPU resources as all processing is done on the CPU. SpeedGrade OnSet is compatible with all modern graphics cards. If your the application does not display correctly on Windows machines, please change the SpeedGrade OnSet display mode to Standard Mode.
