File Formats for Stereo Playback

Overview
FrameCycler and SpeedGrade 2009 (except SpeedGrade OnSet) are designed to display stereo 3D content. All formats that can be used with the applications in general will also work with DualStream. For file formats suitable for real time playback please refer to the paragraph below. To load left and right eye automatically when adding material to a timeline or performing an EDL conform please use the file path conventions for DualStream. Real Time Stereo Playback: File Formats
Only few formats are suitable for real time stereo playback. IRIDAS has tested and recommends the following frame sequence, movie file and RAW formats:
- DPX, CIN for 10 Bit uncompressed
- TGA for 8 Bit uncompressed
- Jpegs (only recommended if bandwidth is of concern)
- Cineform Intermediate
- Cineform RAW
- SI2K .siv
- Phantom HD RAW
- REDCode (using Dynamic Qualities with 1K)
- Adobe CinemaDNG
