Technical Requirements

In order to use DualStream you must be using an nVidia QuadroFX GPU. To find the best driver available for your QuadroFX card please check our certified nVidia drivers.

In case your card or operating system is not listed please contact support@iridas.com to review your hardware setup.

Enabling OpenGL Stereo

The instruction in this section only apply to setups with output to two DVI or active shutter glasses driven by the nVidia card. For all other modes, please see the next section.

Open the driver panel and click on "performance and quality settings." In the main window switch from "basic" to "advanced" view. Then make the following changes:

  • Set OpenGL Stereo to on
  • Set Triple Buffering to on

Apply the changes and reboot your workstation.

Enabling DualStream

Launch your FrameCycler or SpeedGrade application.

  • Hit <S> to open the settings panel.
  • Choose the Display tab.
  • Choose the stereo display mode you want to use from the drop down.
  • If you are using OpenGL stereo with either shutter glasses or NVIDIA routed dual DVI, you have to select "Shutter Glasses" as stereo mode. After choosing Shutter Glasses, you need to restart the application to apply the new settings. All other settings can be applied without having to restart.

Getting Started

To work in stereo, you have to create a stereo timeline first. To do this, enable the stereo check box in the timeline user interface:

For more information, see the Stereo Timelines section of the documentation.

You can then use the regular timeline functions, EDL functionality etc, like you would with monoscopic clips.
