Overview

IRIDAS applications rely extensively on the OpenGL and shader technologies of modern graphics cards.

Some applications are more demanding on the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) than others. SpeedGrade OnSet for example and MetaRender in regular mode do not require shader technologies to be present in the graphics card.

The cards listed here are certified for use with IRIDAS applications. Other cards will often work, but are not supported.

SpeedGrade DI and SpeedGrade XR

The following graphics cards are certified for SpeedGrade DI and SpeedGrade XR:

NVIDIA QuadroFX 5600 with dual DVI
ForceWare Driver 162.65,for Dual DVI stereo output use 169.96

NVIDIA QuadroFX 5600 with SDI Daughterboard
ForceWare Driver 165.42

NVIDIA QuadroFX 4600 with dual DVI
ForceWare Driver 162.65 for Dual DVI stereo output use169.96

NVIDIA QuadroFX 4600 with SDI Daughterboard
ForceWare Driver 165.42

The SDI daughterboard is supported for all these cards on Windows and LINUX. Apple does not supply a driver for the SDI functionality, so on the Mac platform there is no SDI support.

FrameCycler DI and FrameCycler DDS

All cards listed above, plus the following:

NVIDIA QuadroFX 1500 with Dual DVI
ForceWare Driver 169.96

NVIDIA QuadroFX 3500 with Dual DVI
ForceWare Driver 169.96

FrameCycler Professional

FrameCycler Professional is certified to work with all graphics card listed above. In addition it is successfully used with most modern graphics card on the market. If you don't need to use 3D LUTs or other features requiring GPU processing, you can switch to GDI or XWindows mode which are compatible with virtually all graphics cards on the market.

MetaRender

MetaRender by default uses the CPU for rendering and is not dependent on the graphics card. If you enable GPU rendering in MetaRender, the GPU requirements will be identical to those of FrameCycler DDS.

SpeedGrade OnSet

SpeedGrade OnSet uses no GPU resources as all processing is done on the CPU. SpeedGrade OnSet is compatible with all modern graphics cards. If your the application does not display correctly on Windows machines, please change the SpeedGrade OnSet display mode to Standard Mode.
