Introduction
SpeedGrade OnSet 2009 allows for getting reference images from the Cine-tal Cinemage and to send back looks which can be applied in real time on live SDI input. This can be used for preview purposes on set as well as for generating dailies with looks applied. You can use the Tangent CP200 BK or the Tangent Wave in combination with this setup
System requirements
- Laptop or workstation with SpeedGrade OnSet 2009
- Cine-tal Cinemage with firmware 3.1
- Network cable to connect the laptop or workstation to the Cinemage
Step 1: Cinemage Settings
Please connect the Cinemage with an ethernet cable to your laptop or workstation. Make the following changes in the Cinemage setup:
- SETUP MENUS >> NETWORK + USB DATAKEY SETUP >> WEB/FTP SETUP:
Enable Webserver, Enable FTP Server, then hit BACK - >> WIRED/WIRELESS LAN SETUP:
Change wired setup to use a static IP Address. Set it to 169.254.219.120, Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 - Shut down the Cinemage, restart
- Choose SYSTEM MENUS >> PROCESS >> FRAMESTORE:
Hold down BACK for 5 seconds, then release it. Choose FILE SAVE OPTIONS, change SAVE FILE FORMAT to jpg
Step 2: preparing your laptop or workstation
- Set your network controller to use an IP address within the same range as the Cinemage. Standard IP address would be 169.254.219.110, Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
- Send a Ping to the Cinemage (open a command line window, type ping 169.254.219.120). If the request gets timed out please double check IP address and Subnet Mask settings for both your Cinemage and your computer, then repeat the ping.
Step 3: preparing SpeedGrade OnSet
- Launch SpeedGrade OnSet, then hit "S" or push the Settings button.
- Choose "Remote" in the list to the left
- Choose "Cine-tal Integration" under "Mode"
- Enter the IP Address of the Cinemage (default is 169.254.219.120)
- Use 65 x 65 x 65 LUT size
- Restart the application
SpeedGrade OnSet will now show a new button in the main interface called "Get reference". Click on it, you should see a reference image from the Cinemage after a couple of seconds. If you create a look you can send it to the Cinemage via "Send Look"
