Build 2008.3457.43
New Features
- New: Forward compatibility with IRCP files generated by version 2009
- New: Support for TimeCode from .siv files
- New: Support for camA/camB naming scheme for stereo
- New: Timecode source dropdown for rendering dialog
- New: Global default values (in Global_Settings.xml) for I/O LUTs
- New: VenueSystem - TransformationMesh feature for warping/edge blending
- New: VenueSystem - Option to multiply LTC value with constant factor to generate 48fps from 24fps timecode (for example)
- New: Enable/Disable Versions button to avoid issues with versions being detected when no project path is specified.
Changes
- Change: Improved performance of Scene Change Detection
- Change: Disabled NVIDIA-specific shaders optimizations since they don't make a difference anymore. Optimizations are phased out in 2009.
- Change: SpeedGrade/FrameCycler exit faster than before when exiting during playback and some frames have not been loaded yet.
- Change: _LF and _RT are now recognized as stereo path wildcards
- Change: Significant speed up for startup of SpeedGrade and FrameCycler when loading an IRCP
- Change: Significant speed up when sending jobs to MetaRender Node
- Change: MetaRender now has a fixed 1GB memory limit
- Change: MetaRender now frees memory at end of job processing
Bugfixes
- Bugfix: low level function on Mac/LINUX function was broken and caused various ReviewLink issues: Double frame step when only single step was initiated and drop of FPS to 1fps in some circumstances.
- Bugfix: A problem in Quicktime audio decoding that caused files to remain locked in some circumstances.
- Bugfix: When project path changed, timecode settings in all reels reset to default timecode source
- Bugfix: Crashes when rendering solid color clips
- Bugfix: ReviewLink updates where sometimes sent multiple times, causing out of sync frame stepping on master
- Bugfix: Tangent control panel did not work correctly with pan and scan and mask clips
- Bugfix: In a very rare scenario in a setup with multiple masks and an interpolating pan and scan keyframe, one of the masks was not rendered correctly.
- Bugfix: Potential image corruption issue due to cache buffer misalignment in one rare case
- Bugfix: Small memory leak (10 bytes) per frame which could cause a problem with rendering long timelines.
- Bugfix: MetaRender progress bar was not updated properly
- Bugfix: Interlaced columns stereoscopy mode did not work properly (used horizontal instead)
- Bugfix: Version labels did not appear in title bar (only build number)
- Bugfix: Rare potential memory corruption when mirroring horizontally (probably never occured in practice)
- Bugfix: Potential memory corruption when copying memory or filling it with a constant value
- Bugfix: Optimization in .ARI loader caused playback to be actually slower on some older CPUs (P4, K8)
- Bugfix: Stereo sound was played in mono
- Bugfix: Windows: added missing msvcr71.dll which is required by the built-in Cineform decoder.
- Bugfix: VenueSystem SDK - IREX_EVENT_TIMELINE_SHOWN was not sent in some circumstances
- Bugfix: LINUX: Workaround for non-functional ALSA reset function. Caused offsets in sound playback after restarting sound.
- Bugfix: In some situations, the reel ID of clips dropped onto the timeline got lost
- Bugfix: Sequence mode dropdown in Desktop sometimes reset to first entry after restart
- Bugfix: Memory leak in Scene Change Detection causes crashes in longer sequences
- Bugfix: Long timelines with Quicktimes with audio caused out of memory situations because of many open Quicktime files. Quicktime files are now closed when too many of them are open.
- Bugfix: Crash when saving a .Look preset when reel was not loaded
- Bugfix: (Windows only) NVIDIA implementation of base shader bypassed matrix settings when a LUT was applied before it, but not after it.
- Bugfix: Matrix/LUT section was not updated properly, including the change indicator, when previewing a grade.
- Bugfix: Undo browser did not show items
- Bugfix: Undo sometimes resulted in crashes in some situations when a grade was previewed before the undo
- Bugfix: In a specific scenario when previewing grade, undo sometimes behaved wrong (did not appear to do anything, then undid until one addition operation).
- Bugfix: Very slow loading performance when all RAM was used by audio. Audio now always keeps at least 50MB free for loading frames.
- Bugfix: In some situations CPU rendering directly from SpeedGrade used 8 bits instead of 32 bit float.
- Bugfix: Crash when switching a video (AVI, Quicktime) grading setup to 1D
- Bugfix: 1D/3D mode dropdown did not refresh when switching to 3D mode, still indicating 1D.
- Bugfix: Color range buttons in secondary control often did not react properly
- Bugfix: Inverted secondaries did not render out when using CPU grading
- Bugfix: When using a metadata property in the file name specification that already resulted in a frame number, a second frame number was attached.
